Bill McKibben is an American environmentalist and writer who frequently writes about global warming, alternative energy, and the need for more localized economies. Some of his influential books are The End of Nature and Deep Economy. Beginning in the summer of 2006, he led the organization of the largest demonstrations against global warming in American history. He is involved with the project 350.org.
