This week on Crop To Cuisine, we talk with internationally acclaimed Haystack Mountain Goat Dairy. Haystack Mountain quickly worked its way onto the international culinary stage beginning in the late 90’s with an array of quality goat cheeses. Since then, they’ve grown by leaps and bounds, and continue to receive recognition all over the world. Based out of Niwot, Colorado, I speak with CEO Tim Overlie about great tasting goat cheese and recent changes with the goat farm. We also speak with Attorney Bill Marler about recent recalls of E. Coli contaminated beef sold at grocery stores around the country, including numerous Whole Foods markets nationwide. And lastly, we find out about Harvest Week in Denver. The Denver Independent Network of Restaurants (DINR) is promoting local food & agriculture with its participating restaurants from September 9th – 12th. Restaurants will be devoting entire menus to Colorado ingredients, raising public awareness about Colorado’s fantastic array of locally grown and raised food.
